This pleasant and easy excursion connects the area of Acquasparta with that of Todi, allowing you to cross some of the most beautiful countryside in Umbria, moving up and down rolling hills among farms and wineries, with the Martani Mountains always forming a scenic backdrop on the right side of the route.
The route starts from the center of Acquasparta and follows the paved road toward Casteltodino. After about 1,500 meters, turn onto Via delle Palornie and continue downhill into the Macchia Lupara area. The path emerges near an old abandoned farmhouse, which you pass before taking another dirt road descending further. In this section, the route runs through wide cultivated fields with broad, gentle panoramic views. The trail continues downhill before climbing again near a hay barn and reaching the paved road toward Collesecco and Casigliano. Turn left and continue to a junction toward Rosaro, reaching the Villa Sobrano winery, located in an ancient palace once belonging to Todi’s nobility. Shortly afterward, you join a paved road that leads to the gates of Todi.
Here you can visit the town, beginning with its splendid Piazza del Popolo, surrounded by the Palazzo del Capitano, the Palazzo dei Priori, and the Palazzo del Popolo, as well as remarkable churches including the Cathedral, nearby San Fortunato, and the Temple of Santa Maria della Consolazione. For the return journey, a scheduled bus service is available.
